Yeah, I too had mixed feelings about that thing.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if it didn't come pre-fucked up.

I did get to see the original at the Hall of Fame recently. Its pretty bad ass, and has a couple dozen setlists still atached to it. Ill dig up a pic.

I'd buy it if I had money to burn...to collect it and put it on the wall or something. It's kind of a neat tribute, but I kinda agree Joe probably wouldn't be to thrilled about it.

Here in the Denver metro area, we have a guitar shop which is a Fender Custom Shop dealer and I talked to one of the guys there who saw the guitar at the NAMM earlier this year. I love Joe and I own a black Tele because of him. The guy at the shop told me that while it is a cool guitar, it is not an "american" tele. Now I know that makes no difference to some people, but it is an overpriced, made in mexico tele, with the finish pre-made and a box of stickers to make it look like Joe's. When I found out it was a mexican tele, I said fuck it, I'll just keep playing mine and wear it out my self. Which is what any musician should do in the first place. It might be different if it was a regular black tele with rosewood fretboard and it was an american (like Joe's was) and it was a signature series or something. Then it might be worth buying. I think it sucks that people can go out and be ready made Joe Strummer Clones. I think Joe would fricking hate this guitar, and he is probably rollin' in his grave as we speak.
